"I began writing this book believing I had a clear villain in J. Robert Oppenheimer. To my surprise, about half way through the research process, I began to discover a totally different human being than I expected to find. I emphasize the word "human". As much as we like to place people in our convenient boxes, this brilliant man was very complex. A man of science, a hero, a communist, a father, a husband and above all I found out in the end, not too far away from myself. Oppenheimer gave us a lot with his scientific discoveries and research. But as a human, he gave me a lot to consider on a spiritual level."
Jazan Wild's love of great story telling and writing was inspired by his mother, a librarian who read him such classics as: C.S.Lewis, Agatha Christie, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Edgar Alan Poe. What a list of authors to inspire creativity! His first venture into the writing world was with the creation of Carnival Of Souls. This became an international smash success that was published by London based comic book company, Markosia. Wild, who has never been known for in the box thinking, also released a soundtrack to the comic through Markosia Music. He wrote, sang and played all of the instruments.Three books were published in 2005 and 2006. This led to book signings in Brighton and Nottingham, England; Mexico and here in the U.S. at Golden Apple Comics, Meltdown Comics and Dark Delicacies.
After Wild released the three titles, he then received a call from none other than his childhood hero, Gene Simmons. They worked together for seven months before Wild decided to do his own company. Thus began Carnival Comics and Jazan Wild's Funhouse Of Horrors. The Funhouse's Halloween release instantly sold out through Diamond Distributors, and garnered two more Golden Apple signings. In addition 2000 copies of the book and Funhouse posters were given out at five haunted house locations in the greater Los Angeles area as part of a month long promotion between Golden Apple comics, Spooky House (voted one of the top ten haunted houses in the USA) and Carnival comics. This book also has a music soundtrack that can be found on iTunes, along with the first soundtrack.
A new project came along with his friend, Grammy nominated composer Jonathan Elias. Elias was working on a music album about the atomic bomb, and he and Wild collaborated on a graphic book called Atomic Dreams: The Lost Journal of J. Robert Oppenheimer. This book was a departure from the other titles, but one that drew Wild's interest with the subject matter. It is a timely story with the events happening in our world right now.
Wild's out of the box thinking once again led to Carnival Comics pursuing innovative ways to reach the masses. Carnival Comics became the first company to publish digital and motion comics on the Blackberry smartphones.
Carnival Comics also had the first motion comic on Google Android. Atomic Dreams is the first comic book app on Nokia's Ovi Store and has been downloaded countless thousands of times.
This amazing comic has earned the title of being the only Comic Book to reach over 177 countries! Nokia seeing this impressive accomplishment decided to name Carnival Comics a 2009 Success Story! This title is now a Nokia Ovi Store Exclusive for the smartphones!
